- Scenic byway, two-lane, frost heaves, wildlife on the verge. Winter ice and avalanches. Summer is the tourist road; still the right one.

Turnagain at a falling tide. No belugas, two Dall sheep on the wall. Exit Glacier in the evening — a short walk, a long argument about ice. Slept in Seward.

Bore tide at Beluga Point as advertised. The arm went from glass to a moving wall. 201 km is not Anchorage’s backyard — give it the day.
