Privacy.

highwayy is a catalog of scenic drives. This page says what we keep when you browse, sign in, or share a road.

What we collect

Only what the product needs:

  • Account: email, name, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google or X, we receive the identifier those services share with us.
  • Activity: roads you save, upvote, or mark as driven.
  • Writing: field notes you post on a drive.
  • Submissions: route details and photos you upload when you share a road.
  • Technical: a session cookie so you stay signed in, and basic request logs to keep the site up.

We do not run advertising profiles, and we do not sell your information.

How we use it

  • To create and keep your account.
  • To show your saves, votes, driven list, notes, and submissions back to you.
  • To publish field notes and shared roads to the catalog, with the name you chose.
  • To count community ranks.
  • To keep the service secure and fix problems.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so the site knows it is you after you sign in. That is the only cookie we set on purpose. Sign-in will not work if you block it. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your content

Notes, votes, and photos are stored so the catalog can show them. Do not upload pictures of people — especially children — without their permission. See Guidelines for what we will take down.

Who sees it

Your name, notes, votes, and published submissions are visible to anyone using highwayy. Your email and password are not. We use hosting and storage providers to run the site; they process data only to provide that infrastructure.

If you sign in with Google or X, those companies have their own privacy policies for the data they already hold.

How long we keep it

Account data, notes, votes, saves, and submissions stay for as long as the account exists. If you ask us to delete the account, we remove it and the content attached to it, except where we must keep a minimal record (for example, to handle abuse).

Your choices

  • You can edit notes you posted, and you can change votes and saves at any time.
  • You can ask for a copy of the data on your account, or for the account to be deleted.
  • To do either, sign in and send a submission through Contribute that starts with Privacy or Account. Tell us which email the account uses.

Children

highwayy is about driving. You should only create an account if you are old enough to agree to these terms in your country — in India, that means 18.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above. Continued use of the site after that date means the new policy applies.
