Guidelines.
highwayy is a catalog written by people who have been on the road. Keep it useful, true, and quiet.
Field notes
- Write as if the next driver is reading it in a parking lot. One concrete fact beats a paragraph of mood.
- Say when you drove it. Seasons matter.
- No spam, no ads, no copied brochure text.
- No abuse, and no comments on other drivers.
Photos
- Upload photographs you took, or that you have the right to share.
- The road is the subject. Avoid faces, number plates, and private houses.
- Never upload images of children.
- Do not scrape or reuse another site’s pictures as a cover.
Sharing a drive
- Share roads you know. Invented routes waste everyone’s time.
- Be honest about distance, season, and difficulty.
- Permit notes should say what you actually needed — ILP, PAP, or nothing.
- Submissions are reviewed. They may not appear in the public catalog.
Votes and ranks
Upvote a road you would send someone to. Do not make extra accounts, and do not trade votes. Ranks are a signal, not a prize.
What we remove
- Hate, harassment, or threats.
- False listings, stolen photos, and permit misinformation that could get someone in trouble.
- Anything illegal to host.
These sit next to the Terms and Privacy pages. If something on the site is wrong or unsafe, say so in a field note — or send a Contribute submission that starts with Report.
